A wonderful Awards Evening was held in Sacred Heart on Friday 19th May. The event was organised by Mrs O'Sullivan who was also the MC for the evening

On Thursday, the 19th of May, the fourth year students of YSI together with teachers Dr. Galvin and Ms. O’ Regan organised a culture day in the school.

Each year, the German Foreign Office funds scholarships for Irish transition year students to take part in language courses in Germany. A direct application for such a scholarship is not possible. The selection is based on the students' performances in German in the previous Junior Certificate Examination.

Well done to all TY mini company student who displayed at the Clonakilty Enterprise Town event at the Industrial Hall on Friday evening 13-05-16.

Well done to Leaving Certificated student Orla Scally on winning the award for Best Performance in a Supporting Role at the Bord Gais Student Theatre Awards.

On Wednesday, 11th of May, as part of their Music module, the Applied 1 and 2 students enjoyed a DJ demonstration by Joe Hodnett. Thanks to Joe for taking the time to visit us.

Seventy nine students attended the Young Social Innovators of the Year 2016 Awards and Showcase in Citywest Hotel and Convention Centre on Tuesday 10th May. They were accompanied by Ms Galvin, Ms O'Regan, Ms Hennessy, Ms Mangan and Shirley Wycherley.

Sinead McCarthy awarded the gold medal for Chemistry 

Thirty three students travelled to Dublin on Thursday 5th May for the Bord Gais Student Theatre Awards, They were accompanied by Ms O'Regan, Ms Whyte, Ms McCarty, Ms Brosnan and Mr Walsh. Sacred Heart was the only school nominated for three awards.  

Well done to the mini company  'Picture Perfect' who attended  the mini company finals in Naas on Tuesday 3rd May. Six of the student from the company, Ciara Ryan, Orla Lowney, Hannah O'Hea, Clara Crowley, Meabh Deasy and Lorraine Dineen represented their company at the finals. 

Sacred Heart Girls Capture Munster Cup on a score of 3:1

On Wednesday, 27 April, Sacred Heart Secondary School was awarded the Gaelbhratach Irish Flag in Saint Patrick’s College Drumcondra, Dublin. Gaelbhratach is a reward-based scheme which officially recognises schools, which are active in the promotion of Irish throughout the school. Gaelbhratach is funded by Foras Na Gaeilge and organised by Gael-linn. 

The adventure began on Monday the 6th January. We travelled up to Dublin on the bus and met the other volunteers at the airport. We were in the queue, about to check in when I realised that I had my sisters passport! I wasn't able to fly that night and stayed with friends in Dublin. 

ell done to the Senior Camogie team who were crowned County Champions yesterday following a victory over Carrigaline Community School on a score of 4:10 to 3:7.
