Sun shines on TY TEam Building Day
TY Team Building Day
On Thursday 19 September as the thick fog rose from the landscape of picturesque Inchydoney, the beach was swarmed by a hose of Transition Year Girls from Sacred Heart Secondary School. The full contingent was immediately split into two groups and they waited eagerly for further instruction. The fog was lifting rapidly and a magnificent day began to shine through.
One half of the group were set up to play a game of Rounders on the beach while the other half hit the water to surf. The true competitive spirit became very apparent as the game on the beach got into full swing. As the hour passed and the sun shone through, the rounders was wrapped up with an amicable result. The girls hit the waves for a well deserved swim.
Next up was Surfing. This began with a “dry run” on balance & positioning on the board - on the sand. On achieving the “perfect stance” the water was the next step. As everyone attempted to catch the continuous rolling waves the scene ranged from, graceful surfers to - heads, legs & surfboards in all directions. As the hour went on, the task in hand was perfected my most. At 2pm the call came from Mr. Pegler to head home. All reluctantly packed up and headed in the beautiful sunshine back to school. A great Team Building day was had by all fourth years.
