TY Students attend Cycle against suicide Leaders Congress.
Fourth year students (4.3) and 5th year YSI advocates together with their teachers Ms. Galvin and Ms. Sexton attended the Cycle against Suicide Student Leaders Congress in the University of Limerick yesterday. Students enjoyed the inspirational talks given by Ger Duffy, Aoife Gray, Dr. Eddie Murphy and Bob Carley as well as the breath-taking performance by Emma Langford "Tug of War". Students were so taken in by the heart-breaking stories on the day that many have downloaded the training programme for the Cycle against Suicide and hope to participate in the event in May. Also on return from the event the school have signed up to the Ambassador School Programme. The Ambassador School Programme established in 2013 aims to encourage schools to become actively involved in mental health promotion. The programme provides a framework, structure and incentive for schools to integrate mental health activities into their school planning and rewards schools that go the extra mile.
