First Year Football

The 1st year football team made their first outing of the year as they travelled to Gaelcholáiste Mhuire (North Mon) On Thursday. The girls got off to a slow start as they trailed in the early exchanges by eight points but they showed great character with goals from Orla Deasy, Aine Ruddy and Zara Flood as they led 4-0 1-8 at half time. The second half we were much the stronger team with further goals from Siofra Patwell, Ciara White and Orla Deasy. All twenty six girls performed well on the day in their first game representing Sacred Heart in football as they prevailed with a seven point win with star performances from goalkeeper Katie Hearn, Orla Deasy and Lucy McCarthy.The girls next outing is next week against Castletownbere.

 Orla Deasy 3-0, Ciara White 2-0, Aine Ruddy 1-0, Zara Flood 1-1, Siofra Patwell 1-0, Amy Harrington 1-0.
