Munster Finalists
Commiserations to the Senior Camogie team who were defeated in the Munster Senior A Camogie Final at Ahamilla. The Sacred Heart Girls can be proud of a gritty performance, full of heart and backed up by plenty of fine hurling. The game turned on a fortuitous second half goal, from a long distance free that dipped at the last moment into the net. Up to this point the Clonakilty students were well in the game, having led for most of the first half. A few early second half opportunities from the penalty spot and from a free weren't to be for the local team, while the clinical Waterford students from the Ursalines made the score board work for them at every opportunity. We wish them all the best in their All Ireland Journey. The future is bright for the Sacred Heart Students with the majority of the team available for next year's campaign. Clara Crowley, Ciara Ryan, Lorainne Dineen, Orla Lowney, Kate Whelton, Orla Fahey, Katie Sexton and Meabh Deasy bow out with plenty of happy memories of their school playing days. We wish them well as they prepare for the LC. A big thanks to Mr. Daly who's hard work and leadership ensures Sacred Heart Secondary School are to the forefront in Schools camogie. Thanks also to Mr. Mulcahy and to all the parents, family and supporters.
