The HERO STARTS WITH HER workshop combines elements of drama therapy & performance with interactive activities. The programme creates a relaxed, conversational environment which allows students to feel comfortable to communicate with each other in an alternative way. Girls are given the opportunity to develop new constructive ways of resolving problems and to fully realise the impact of their own actions both good and bad. HERO STARTS WITH HER's energetic yet sensitive approach enables girls to connect with a better understanding of each other.

Thanks to the Parent's Association for financing the workshops received by all 2nd and 3rd years.

The HERO STARTS WITH HER workshop pays particular attention to:

Female Relational Bullying

Cyber Bullying

Social Exclusion

Feelings of being ostracized or alone.

Recognising bullying in all forms – (Including Verbal, Physical and Psychological)

Identifying the active or passive participants involved.

Awareness of the lasting effects and impact of bullying.

Aims of the HERO STARTS WITH HER workshop:

To explore and challenge the dynamics of female relational bullying.

Cultivate a new awareness to how others feel around us.

Establish a healing process for the harmful effects of bullying and prevent future incidents.

To shift female attitudes on self-worth and ability to focus on positives rather than negatives.

To enable girls to recognise their potential to be an everyday hero and how to maintain a social good status.

To create a fresh, revitalised attitude towards female friendships and ultimately to create a calm, safe and enjoyable school atmosphere for everyone.

To promote kindness, courage and positivity as a way of life.
