Concern Debating Competition commences

Debate Night

Four 4th year students, Abbie o Sullivan, Maebh McWalters, Nicole Hayes o Donavan and Tola Ní Shúileabháin, suffered a narrow defeat on Wednesday evening in their first outing as the TY debate team.

 Proposing the motion “Any Individual Serious about Climate Change Must Give Up Meat” the girls put up a strong fight but were narrowly pipped by the Bandon Grammar opposition. Though the Sacred Heart girls put in a proud effort the Bandon Grammar came out, of what was indeed a heated performance, victorious. It was an evening not only enlightening but truly entertaining and we have no doubt that Abbie, Meabh, Nicole and Tola will take this learning curve in their stride as they go forward into a year of debating.
