Sacred Heart Girls throw their hand at Road Bowling!

There was an amazing turnout of over 20 Sacred Heart girls in Shannonvale on Wednesday 17th October, competing for their school in the Irish Road Bowling School’s Event. Teams were made up of three girls, all of whom showed immense strength and prowess in their performances.

In the senior bowling Sacred Heart girls, Hannah Sexton, Margaret Sexton and Sinéad Walsh were total powerhouses from their first shot. Unfortunately, they were just pipped to the post by Maria Immaculata Community College of Dunmanway, who came away with 1st place, leaving the Sacred Heart girls in 2nd place.

Meanwhile, in the junior bowling, Maria Immaculata Community College again took first place, closely followed by our junior team, consisting of Sarah Harrington, Grace Murphy and Daire O’Brien, who took home the silver medal. Bríd Collins, Ellen O’Hea and Sinéad McCarthy claimed bronze for our school.

Standout moments of the day were Grace Murphy’s and Sinéad Walsh’s last shots, and a surprise talent was Erica Harrington who amazed bystanders with her skills. Everyone, whether experienced or not, did the school proud, embodying dedication and talent. Well done girls!

Hannah and Margaret Sexton and Sinead Walsh second in senior. Megan Murphy Sarah Harrington and Daire O Brien second in junior. Brid Collins Ellen O Hea and Sinead Mc Carthy third in Junior.
