Hockey at Sacred Heart

Hockey continues to go from strength to strength in Sacred Heart. The school currently field five hockey teams. This is remarkable for a school of our size. It would not be possible without the commitment of the girls and the support of the teacher who give of their time to coach and organise the teams. Mr Cronin is coaching the Senior C team while Ms O’Donovan coaches the Senior B team. Ms M Lynch takes charge of the Juniors with Ms N Lynch taking the Minor team. Ms Flanagan is kept busy with the large number of 1st year trying their hand at hockey. She has excellent support from some of the senior players. On Thursday our Senior C team had an excellent victory over Colaiste Muire, Cobh 6-0. Today in beautiful sunshine on the Senior B team defeated Scoil Mhuire 2-1 and the minor team won their game 1-0. It is great to see so many of our Leaving Certificate students so committed to hockey. Well done to all.
