John Paul II Awards 2019

Congratulations and well done to Rachel Collins who was awarded the Papal Cross at  the John Paul II Annual Award Presentation in Mallow. Many thanks to Ms Mangan their teacher for her ongoing support and help. Student unable to attend the event were Ruth O’Driscoll who was due to receive the Papal Cross , Brid Collins, Aoife O’Sullivan, Aoife Cullinane, Claire Cullinane Sexton, Moire Keohane, Ella O’donoghue, Sarah O’Donovan and Emma O’Driscoll who were due to be presented with their Gold Medal Awards.

The Pope John Paul II Award is a faith achievement award for young people between the age of 16 and 18. It is non-competitive, inclusive, flexible and voluntary.

Young people achieve their Award by taking part in parish and social activities – 1 hour per week over 8, 14 or 20 weeks. There are 3 Award levels – GoldSilver & Bronze. Those that have completed the Gold Award have a further option of completing the Papal Cross Award.

Over 20,000 young people, in 21 dioceses throughout Ireland and the UK have successfully completed the Pope John Paul II Award since it was created in 2006.

Rachel Collins was presented with her Papal Cross at the Award Ceremony in Mallow on Thursday 10th October. She was accompanied by her dad Martin .
