TY Students join forces with The Irish Wheelchair Association

Members of the Irish Wheelchair Association together with Transition Year pupils from the Sacred Heart in Clonakilty joined creative forces to produce some wonderful felt pieces including a felt panel for a relaxation room in the IWA Resource and Outreach Service. The Transition Year students included Olivia Whelton, Chloe Hurley, Lydia Jeffers and Sophie Sheehan.

The course took place over 8 weeks and was facilitated by Stephanie Tenier of Feltastik and was kindly funded by Cork County Council Arts Grant.

It was the first time the creative crew had tried working with felt and it was enjoyed immensely by all of those involved.

Bank of Ireland, Clonakilty kindly allowed us to display the creative pieces in their premises where members of the public could view them.

If you would like more information on courses and projects taking place in The Irish Wheelchair Association Resource Service, you can call us on 023-8821600/sinead.burke@iwa.ie or feel free to drop by on our days of service, Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays.
