"Fuse" programme for 2nd year students

FUSE

FUSE is an anti-bullying and online safety programme developed by the Anti-bullying Research  and Resource center in DCU. The second years will receive the programme during their SPHE classes. Ms. Flanagan received training recently on FUSE and will coordinate the programme at the school.

Objectives 

  • FUSE consists of a series of workshops and projects to empower 2nd Year Students in junior cycle to tackle bullying and raise awareness of Online Safety. The programme also involves their parents and school staff in post-primary schools across Ireland.

  • It is a research and evaluation programme with pre and post programme surveys involving school staff, 2nd year students and their parents.

The aim of the programme is to strive to;

  • Reduce levels of bullying in schools

  • Increase reporting of bullying incidents

  • Increase students, school staff and parent awareness of online safety

  • Increase inclusiveness within the school climate, enabling school staff, students and parents, to tackle bullying and online safety together.
