Munster A Junior Football Team reach final!

Sacred Heart 5-4 Ursulines Thurles 2-6

> Sacred Heart are through to the Munster Junior Football final following a hectic semi final in Pairc Uí Chaoimh this afternoon.

> The Clonakilty girls started the brighter and had the first score on the board, a fine effort from play by Orlaith Deasy. Katie O Driscoll doubled the lead with a similar score before Millie Condon found the net after a stunning team move. That was where the Clon scoring in the first half ceased as they spent the next twenty minutes defending with Ursulines dominating possession and territory.

> The defence stood up well with Alannah O Brien, Ciara Hourihane and Zara flood to the fore. Wave after wave of Thurles attacks were repelled as the Tipp girls continued to go for goal on every occasion. A switch in tactics yielded reward as they kicked 3 points with the clock approaching half time and in first half injury time took the lead with a fine goal that gave outstanding goalie Katie Hearne no chance.

> Half time Clon 1-2 Ursulines 1-3

> A rejigged Sacred Heart side took to the field after the short whistle and it was one such replacement Caoimhe Mc Evoy that sprinted through the Ursuline defence before parting to other halftime replacement Aoife O Flynn Meade, who steadied herself before finishing to the top corner of the net for a high quality goal. Orlaith Pointed from the kick out to extend the lead. With the defence on top, in particular the irrepressible Mary Murphy, it looked like Clon would take a firm hold on the game.

> A yellow card for effective centre back Kate O Donovan meant 14 player Clon were again on the back foot and while they defended valiantly the pressure told as Ursulines scored the equalising goal from penalty spot.

> This groups of Clon girls are hard beaten though and they respond led with a goal on the break from Ciara White and another soon after from Siofra. It was Clons turn to enjoy the numerical advantage now as Ursulines were reduced to 12 following over zealous challenges.
>
> Sacred Heart played out the remainder of the game in a professional manner, holding possession they put the icing on the cake with another Siofra goal.

> Final score 5-4 2-6
