Croke Park Angus Beef Showcase! - Lucy Collins

Four Transition Year students - Lucy Collins, Aoife Whelton, Amy McCarthy and Deirdre O’Neill - travelled to Croke Park on Friday to showcase their project on Efficiencies in Angus Beef Farming at the Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition with their teacher, Ms O Neill. They were judged by a range of agri food experts and business people e.g. Bord Bia, ABP foods, Tesco, past winners of the competition, KEPAK and Ag Science teachers. They met the Minister Of Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue, and Anna May McHugh, known widely as the ‘Ploughing Queen’.

We look forward to hearing the final five groups in May who go forward to the final stage at the Ploughing Championship and get the herd of cattle in September.
