Fam-D-Bread Opportunity for Families: Take Part in UCC & UCD Vitamin D Research Study

Research teams led by University College Cork (UCC) and University College Dublin (UCD) are sharing an opportunity for families called Fam-D-Bread: A Household-Based Dietary Intervention Study of Vitamin D Fortified Bread in Irish Families.

The aim of the study is to explore how including vitamin D-fortified bread in the diet can improve vitamin D levels during the winter months. The research team is seeking families with at least one adult (18+) and one child aged 5–17 years who may be interested in participating.

Participation involves:

  • Two visits to UCC, where blood samples will be taken by a nurse

  • Short dietary and lifestyle questionnaires

  • Brief check-in phone calls

  • Free vitamin D-fortified bread for the duration of the study
    Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
