Anna Carey Selected for Cork City U17 Squad

Huge congratulations to 3rd Year student Anna Carey on her outstanding achievement in being selected for the Cork City U17 squad.

Anna’s passion for soccer began at a very young age, playing with boys’ teams due to the lack of local girls’ teams at the time. Her talent and determination quickly became evident, leading her to join College Corinthians at U12 level, where she continued to develop and excel.

Anna proudly represented the Cork Schoolgirls League in 2022 and 2023 before facing a significant setback in 2024 with a serious knee injury that required surgery and a lengthy rehabilitation period. Through resilience, commitment and tremendous perseverance, Anna worked her way back to full fitness and successfully earned her place on the Cork City U17 squad following a demanding trial process.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to Anna’s dedication, strength of character and passion for the game. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment and wish her every success in the season ahead.
