Career Pathways Talk for 5th Years with Roni Hawe

We were delighted to welcome Roni Hawe to our school recently, where she kindly took the time to chat with our 5th year students as part of the Junior Achievement Ireland programme.

Roni spoke openly about her career journey, the different paths she has taken, and how she arrived at her current role. Students really engaged with her talk and shared some great takeaways afterwards, including the importance of not giving in to peer pressure, doing what you enjoy, and understanding how hobbies and interests can play a role in future careers.

Other key messages included the value of lifelong learning, knowing that it’s okay to change direction, and not feeling stuck on one path. Students were also inspired by hearing about careers in the environmental sector and the work of the EPA, as well as how transferable skills can open many doors.

It was a very enjoyable and inspiring talk, and we would like to thank Roni for taking the time to visit our school and share her experience with our students.
