Principal , Ms Ann Marie Brosnan ,and Deputy Principal Mr Brendan Walsh congratulating Aoibhinn

The following is an excerpt from the inspirational article submitted by Aoibhinn:

“In terms of the question: What Does The Irish Flag Mean To Me? There is no such simple answer to this question because in reality as I have referenced, there is  no exact definition I can write down that can reflect what the Irish flag means to me. Because while it is true in a sense that the Irish Flag has meanings, that  it is associated with words that authors, and Secondary School pupils alike can come up with, out of either necessity, or curiosity, it would not be honest of me if I did such. So, what I mean to convey in this essay is that sometimes the HEART is the true conductor of  what we associate with things such as the Irish Flag, that words, and meanings can only convey so much. This is evident when the Irish National Anthem is played, and the Irish Flag is raised .There is silence. Why you may ask? Because there really are no words that could ever really show what the symbol of our own identity, the symbol of our own nation,The Irish Flag, means to ME.”
