Lights, Camera, Success! TY Class 4C Wins Best Schools Film Award
Congratulations to the Transition Year students of Class 4C at Sacred Heart Secondary School, who won the Best Schools Film Award 2026 at a First Cut Youth Film Festival showcasing films from schools across Ireland and the UK.
Their short film, Old Growls in Pineville, impressed judges with its creativity and humour. The story follows the students of Pineville High as they mysteriously begin transforming into aggressive grizzly bears, with the only cure being the hilariously ridiculous “Grizzeye Dance” they learned in primary school.
The film was written and directed by Meabh Lowney and Sadhbh Coomey, and reflects the fantastic creativity and teamwork of the class. A special thank you to Mr Brown for his support and guidance throughout the project. Well done to everyone involved in this fantastic achievement!
