Learning Beyond the Classroom: Geography Trip to Clonakilty Blackpudding Factory

Our 3rd Year Geography students recently enjoyed a fascinating trip to the Clonakilty Blackpudding factory as part of their study of Economic Activities.

The girls were given an insightful tour of the factory, where they explored the history and evolution of one of the town’s most important and successful local industries. The visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to see first-hand how secondary and tertiary economic activities operate and thrive within the local economy.

Throughout the tour, students learned about the production process, the growth of the business over time, and the many roles involved in bringing products from factory to consumer.

To finish off an enjoyable morning, the students even got the opportunity to sample some of the factory’s products at the end of the tour!

A sincere thank you to everyone at the factory for the warm welcome and informative experience.
