Final of the Munster Philisop Debating Competition

On Thursday, April 11th , Transition Year student Sophie Bell took part in the Semi -Final of the Munster Philisop Debating Competition . She was one of 26 students taking part. She gave a speech as Speaker 9, opposing the motion; "Governments should not be regulated by the Government." After all speakers in two coinciding debates had spoken, and after all speakers had received feedback, the results were announced. Sophie was one of 12 speakers that are progressing to the Final, some in teams of two, and some as individual speakers. The Final will be taking place in UCC this Saturday, April 20th,with Sophie proposing the motion, "This House would, assuming the Technology exists, erase all memories and evidence of the existence of Nazism."

We wish Sophie every success
