SciFest’s main object is: To promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education through the provision of a forum for students at local/regional/national level to present and display their scientific investigations.
Meet Members of one of today’s Teams
I'm Sophie Mertuszka, A 16 year old Transition year student with a passion for science. My concerns about bacterial diseases and global health are what inspired me to pursue scifest. This Project is my way of getting involved in environmental sustainability. My tasks in this project was to use the experiments to gather information, carry out surveys and type up the report book.
My name is Yasmine Asare. I am a 15 year old student here at Sacred Heart School in Clonakilty.Through scifest i discovered my enthusiasm for science.chose to do this experiment in order to contribute to and learn more about the environment around me. My role in this project was focusing on the visual display, understanding background research and collecting samples and data.
Summary Our science project aimed to design an effective water filter to mitigate bacterial diseases by ensuring safe drinking water. To achieve this, we employed a multi-stage filtration system using materials like activated charcoal, sand, and gravel. Through rigorous experimentation, we tested the filter's efficiency in removing bacteria from contaminated water sources.
