Community Awareness Christmas Time

Well done to our Transition Year Students who participated in our Community Awareness Programme during Term 1.This involved visiting older people in local Nursing Homes such as Care Choice and Bushmount Nursing Home, Clonakilty Community Hospital and Day Care.

Carol services were shared with the residents of these Nursing Homes during the month of December . The following message was delivered by our students:

“As Christmas approaches we ask ourselves one very important question-that is -why are people such as you, who are older than us, so special in our lives? There are so many answers, so many reasons. Each day  we answer this question by saying ‘it is your intelligence, your wisdom, your ability to understand situations, the depth of your compassion, your shared experiences, your acceptance, your generosity and your love.Such are the qualities we admire, we respect, qualities we will treasure today, tomorrow, forever. May every day be your day-a shared day with others .This sharing of music ,poetry and prayers  is our way  of saying “Thank You.”
