LGBT Awareness in Sacred Heart Secondary School

This week was ‘LGBT Stand Up Week’ in school. To show our support the YSI group ‘LGBTeaching’ set out to raise awareness for this very important issue. They started on Tuesday by decorating the school bridge with pictures of celebrities that are members of the LGBT community along with some of their quotes, to show students that some of their favourite celebs are part of the community.

On Wednesday they organised face painting for students that wanted to show their support to the LGBT community. The YSI group were happy to see it was a great success; with many of the student body wearing the flag on their cheek. To finish off the week they made rainbow themed food and distributed them to the students. It really was a colourful week in the school.
