"Breaking the Mould: Building Your Future"
“There is no limit to what we, as Women, can Accomplish”
As part of TY Activity Week 2026 our students were introduced to a very topical topic when it comes to choosing a career ,
“Women and the Apprenticeship World…..Breaking the Mould”.
“Can I ask you to take a moment? I want you to picture an engineer, a mechanic, an electrician or a construction site manager. For a long time, society has told us "That’s not possible for you as a woman". Students were often told that these industries are "male-dominated," a phrase that, for a long time, acted as a barrier, suggesting we didn't belong.
But I am here to tell you that the future of these industries, and many more , is female. If you are looking for a career that is hands-on, high-paying, and allows you to build something real with your own hands, I am here to encourage you to consider an Apprenticeship.”
