Assessment Arrangements for Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate 2026

The Minister for Education and Youth confirmed in April this year that the existing examination and assessment adjustments, which have been in place since 2022, would remain in place for the Leaving Certificate 2026 cohort. Details in relation to those adjustments are available at the link below.

Junior Cycle - Classroom-Based Assessments At Junior Cycle, the assessment adjustments have meant that students have been required to complete one classroom-based assessment (CBA) instead of two, and that the Assessment Task has not been examined. This arrangement is in place for those currently in third year (2025/26).
