Inter-schools Hunter Trial Champions
Well done to Zoe Hannigan, Carina Crowley, Ms. Curran, Jane Kingston and Nell Brophy on their recent win at the Inter Schools Hunter Trials. The students were outright winners having obtained the highest accumulation of points.
Transition Year Maths Sand Circle Day 2017
Transition year students at Sacred Heart Secondary School recently undertook a module on sand circles as part of their maths course. As circles, constructions and geometry are key elements of the maths syllabus, this was innovative and fun way to explore maths in a real life context.
TY Students complete 87 KM leg of "Cycle against Suicide"
We arrived in Fermoy at 8 a.m. on Thursday the 4th of May to set off on our 87km cycle to Thurles.
The cycle started at approx. 11 a.m. There were loads of supporters out as we set off on our journey which helped immensely. The atmosphere throughout the day was unreal!

Sacred Heart Debating Team Capture All-Ireland Title
Sacred Heart Secondary School students won the All-Ireland Concern Debating competition in the Helix, DCU in Dublin yesterday evening. Team members, Laura Walsh, Maebh McCarthy, Natasha Sutton and Caoimhe Ní Sulleabháin defeated CBS Carlow in an eagerly fought contest.
Sacred Heart Students represent Ireland at European Youth Parliament
Recently Sacred Heart Students Grace Keane O’ Connor and Meabh Finnerty attended 3 days of the regional youth parliament. Both girls impressed so much that they were invited to the National Conference. Their performances impressed so much that the 2 Clonakilty girls qualified to represent Ireland at the International Youth Parliament in Georgia and the Czech Republic.
Cycle Against Suicide Event, Thursday 04-05-17
Transition Year Students together with Teachers Mr. Pegler and Ms. Galvin complete 90 KM of the Cycle Against Suicide Course tomorrow. They travel from Fermoy to Thurles.

Minor Hockey Team Capture South Munster League Crown
Congratulations to the Minor Hockey team and their coach, Ms. Flanagan who won the Minor South Munster League.
Parent Teacher Meeting for 2nd Year and TY classes 4.3 & 4.4 on Monday 08-05-17
A Parent Teacher meeting for 2nd Years and Transition Year Classes 4.3 & 4.4 will take place on Monday 8th of May at 1.15pm to 3.45pm. Classes will finish on the day at 12.20pm. A fully supervised study facility will be available for the duration of the Parent/Teacher meeting for any student who wishes to avail of this.

Sacred Heart Crowned South Munster Senior Hockey Champions
In a thrilling final that went all the way to penalty strokes, the students from Sacred Heart Secondary School were crowned South Munster Champions. Sinead Mears was the hero of the hour in goal as she pulled off some final saves in the penalty strokes shoot out after both sides finished even after extra time.
Students compete in Pfizer Chemistry Quiz
Congratulations to Amy Sexton, Elsa Harte, Meabh McSweeney and Yvonne Collins who represented the school in the Pfizer Chemistry Quiz in Cork on Wednesday 26-04-17.
Senior Hockey Team in Final
Best of Luck to the Senior Hockey Team and Coach Ms. O' Donovan who are in the South Munster Hockey League Final, tomorrow at 12pm in Bandon Grammar School. The girls take on the students of Presentation School, Bandon. All support Welcome.
