Staff Meeting, Monday 24th of April 3.15pm -4.30pm
School finishes at 3.15 pm on Monday 24th of April to facilitate a staff meeting. For those students who are waiting for buses of for lifts home, a supervised study facility will be provided.

All-Ireland Semi Final Win for Concern Debating Team!
Well done to the Concern Debating team of Laura Walsh, Caoimhe Ni Sulleabhain, Natasha Sutton and Meabh McCarthy on their Magnificent All-Ireland Semi-Final Win in Dublin on 06-04-17. Wishing the team and Ms. E.Harte, Ms. S. O'Shea and S.Gilbert all the best in the All-Ireland Final.

Transition Year Students complete GAA Coaching course with Kevin O’ Donovan
On The 28th Of March, Kevin O’Donovan (Cork GAA Coaching officer) came to our school to do a coaching course with members of Changing the Game and Transition Year. We spoke with him about our YSI Project and he gave us some useful advice. We then learned about coaching different age groups, and how different coaching methods have to be used for each age group.

Young Social Innovator Project Invited to Dublin to Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Immigrant Council of Ireland
As a result of our YSI project "I'm Still Human: Understanding the Islamic Community" we (Anna Mc Carthy, Clodagh O'Sullivan and our teacher Ms. Elaine Galvin) were invited to attend the first stakeholder meeting on resource materials on intolerance against Muslims for teachers. The event was hosted by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Immigrant Council of Ireland.

Transition Year Students win 1st and 2nd prizes at Mini Company Finals in Vienna Woods
Four Mini Companies took part in the "Get up and Go" competition in Vienna Woods on Tuesday the 21st of March. A great day was had by all with two companies winning prizes. "Logit" scooped the top prize in the Sustainability category while "Helping Hand" came 2nd in the Marketing category. Well done to all four companies on producing fantastic products and representing the school so well!

5th Year students participate in West Cork Youth Mental Health Day
YSI Advocates with 5th year students went to Dunmanway to the West Cork Youth Mental Health day on Thursday 9th March 2017. 12 schools in West Cork were gathered to learn; how physical health and mental health are interlinked and the valuable resource Reach-Out.com is to help people learn more about themselves.
TY Mini Company Success
Well done to the two mini company groups "Logit" and "Helping hand" who participated in the West Cork Enterprise Board competition in Rosscarbery on Wednesday the 15th of March. Both teams were very successful with "Logit" winning thebest stand award while "Helping hand" won the Social and Corporate award. Well done girls!

Sacred Heart 5th Year Art Students Exhibit in Skibbereen
Photos taken on Saturday 11th of March at Uillinn, West Cork Arts Centre in Skibbereen in the Stairwell Gallery space. Thirteen students exhibited work with the theme of Climate Change inspired by the recent exhibition called 'What If We Got It Wrong'.
